CNA Training – Become A Certified Nursing Assistant
In order to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you need to be certified in a CNA training program approved by the National League for Nursing Accredited Commission. This program will train you to assist patients with daily activities, such as personal hygiene, bathing and dressing. You would also be trained in making beds, light housekeeping, assisting the nurses, feeding patients, understanding vital signs, giving emotional and social support and basic treatments, and providing the nurse in charge with vital information regarding the patient’s condition. After completing the program you will be working under fully qualified nurses like Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses.
However, in order to succeed in this profession it is essential that you should be prepared to do physically and emotionally exhausting work, and have a caring nature so that you can look after the basic needs of patients. If you feel that serving the sick and infirm patients is your goal, CNA training will be the first step towards a great career in the medical field. You can then move towards becoming a licensed nurse.
A Certified Nursing Assistant works in hospitals, doctor’s offices, nursing homes, home care centers, clinics and mental health facilities where they look after the patients. They are also known as nursing assistants, nursing aides, home health aides, orderlies, and patient care technicians.
Eligibility For CNA Training
CNA training programs help the trainees to become capable of caring for patients of all ages in a very short span of time. The basic eligibility for entering this program is that you should have a high school diploma or a GED. You would also have to be prepared for a criminal background check and drug tests. You can get CNA training in the nursing home that you work for, or in a college. You can also opt for online training or by the Red Cross. By browsing the websites of different online training programs you can even get free CNA classes. You will need to check out whether you meet the requirements for training as a nursing assistant by contacting the State Nurse Aide Registry and/or State Licensing Board.
The duration of CNA classes is between six to 12 weeks. The different subjects of training include anatomy and physiology, basic nursing skills, patient care, clinical science skills, nutrition, and infection control. The focus is always on hands-on training which includes clinical activities like learning CPR and taking vital signs among others.
Tests For Certification
During the duration of the course you will have to take many tests, and before getting the CNA certification you will have to face a final assessment test which consists of a written and a practical portion. Whereas the written portion consists of a multiple choice test and an essay or critical thinking questions, the practical portion involves performing some procedures such as taking blood pressure reading, taking a patient’s temperature, correct hand washing, and turning a patient correctly. The certification varies from State to State, and as such you should get the certification of the State where you live in. The need for certified nursing assistants is expected to rise in the coming years.
You can earn a salary between $20,000 and $30,000 a year at the entry level after completing CNA training. The salary varies from industry to industry because each place has its own requirements, and it also depends on the amount of experience that you have.

There are staffs that one can work with then there are THOSE….. If nights and weekends weren't really an option for me, I'd start looking around for another place to work. I rarely work days myself because I don't brown-nose. I don't like being forced to play the political games that go on when administration is there, and the day people often are looking to move up. Many of them think that to do that they must be critical of everyone around them, mistakenly thinking that will make them look good. A true team helps each other. I don't mean does another's work, but willingly provides information. Those are the places I like to work in, and they do exist. So play the game and say "yes ma'am, no ma'am, thank you for pointing that out to me, ma'am-I wasn't aware of that" and ignore the gossip (which is VERY unprofessional) and start looking around and sending out resumes. Your work is not your life, it is to provide for your life. Your increased time with your husband must be suffering with all of this stress. Good luck!

You are a CNA, you can work anywhere that hires CNAs. I've heard from CNA's that hospitals are WAY better working conditions and responsibilities than the tedious nursing homes.

is a charity and it has a free questionnaire you can fill out in order to get feedback on what you might be lacking in your diet.
Keep two journals. One for writing down all your feelings, this is really good for clearing out your anxieties and getting all your war onto paper, you can delete it straight after if you need to, just good to really see your stressful thinking. And the other can be your gratitude journal – write down all the things you are grateful for that happened today.

You can definately still work in a hospital. Go for IT! It will be much better than working in a nursing home, probably love it. I do. In my state (DE) in hospitals get paid a little bit less than those in nursing homes but the work is a lot less strenuous and its more laid back.. and more interesting..

Hi, My Dad was terribly sick and on dialysis too. The best bet would be for you to get in touch with a Social Services person. There should be one at your dialysis center or perhaps her doctor could point you in the direction of one or some other options for her and your family. I know a hard time on all. Also ask the dialysis place if any alternatives (van or ambulance) is available and find out what is covered by her insurance. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

They are so using you. I would looking for another job. 430 a week to do all of that? Oh my. My mom pays me 115 a week to help pay for college, and all i have to do for that is vaccuum three times a week, take out the trash, and clean her bathroom once a week. That is light house work. What your doing is.. wow. how do you find time for yourself? They just add more work!!!
If full time, that means you work 40 hours a week right? no that figures to 10 dollars an hour. I assume the cost of living in Boston is higher than the cost of living where I live… Minimum wage here is 6.55 an hour. think that the parents would want to pay the nanny more to pretty much be the primary caregiver for their children. If I were to hire a nanny (just a nanny, not a housekeeper too) pay at least 100 dollars a day- at least! I mean at the minimum, 8 hours of watching young children. I know people that pay babysitters 40 dollars+ an hour. Think of that. Good luck!!

NYU and Columbia are two of the best schools on the east coast. Columbia has an excellent English Literature program, I would suggest applying there but it is very competitive, seeing as its an Ivy. NYU has a good medical school but it is more known for its business school. If you are a good student pply to Columbia medical school
If you think that you wont get into these schools, apply to a CUNY school. They are also very good school and not as expensive

you can shout all you want but what you are suggesting is not right. right now, any fighters fighting under NSAC will undergo the drug test required by NSAC. all pro league players are undergoing random urine drug tests. why would it be different for other fighters? so we have some 4 rounder guys who would do the regular testing while we have those superstars doing an olympic style testing which are for the amateurs.
and we are discussing here olympic style testing in boxing as a whole and not just floyd-pac. the OP calls for it. do you wish for changes to stop on just the pac and floyd fight and other superfights? then you are not cleaning the
boxing needs to improve current methods of drug testing? Or is it to bring back arguments on who ruined the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao?

No, not really. If you were a doctor, then you could do something in a place like Alaska, Africa or New Guinea, or the Australian outback if you owned your own plane. As a paramedic, dreaming. It would be a good skill to have to get hired as a bush pilot, but it something have an to be paid for. I flew in Alaska for many years and I know what about it. However, since the majority of bush flying is seasonal, being a paramedic would be a good second job to get you through the winter until the next summer flying season, which is roughly April through September.

What I read in this is that they like the stereotypes pro-life leaders have, so they want to create a stereotype of what pro-choice leaders are. just because Planned Parenthood does this does not mean all pro-choice people are like this. I also think that all pro-life people want to go bomb clinics.

Not sure why this is in Optical, but generally no they test for drugs during a routine urine screening. They are checking for sugar, protein, ketones, and signs of infection. If you mention anything about drugs then they probably suspect it unless you go in there blitzed. I am not even sure that they CAN drug test you without your consent but I am not positive on that one.

Anywhere from slightly higher to minimum wage (maybe $8-$10 per hour) and most will top out at $15-$17 after working many years, usually in a hospital setting in a larger metropolitan area. Average is probably $10-$12 per hour. You can use your calculator to multiply those dollar amounts by the number of hours you would work. Full-time is 40 hours. Usually anything more than that is time and a half. You might only work time though. up to you. depends on the facility. Some might never have extra hours available if they are well staffed. Some might have it available almost every time you work. a good question to ask in an interview.
You become a CNA through a 4-6 week course, usually offered at technical / vocational or community colleges or private health colleges. Compare programs and costs so you get ripped off. You can contact your state board of nursing, google their website, and they should have an "education" page which lists eligible programs in your state.

There are staffs that one can work with then there are THOSE….. If nights and weekends really an option for me, looking around for another place to work. I rarely work days myself because I brown-nose. I like being forced to play the political games that go on when administration is there, and the day people often are looking to move up. Many of them think that to do that they must be critical of everyone around them, mistakenly thinking that will make them look good. A true team helps each other. I mean does work, but willingly provides information. Those are the places I like to work in, and they do exist. So play the game and say "yes no thank you for pointing that out to me, aware of that" and ignore the gossip (which is VERY unprofessional) and looking around and sending out resumes. Your work is not your life, it is to provide for your life. Your increased time with your husband must be suffering with all of this stress. Good luck!

At the end of my shift I initial each page of orders to ensure they have been ordered/transcribed. At the bottom of the last written order on my shift I put my initials, the date, time, and "12 hour check." The night shift then looks over every order written in the last 24 hours and does the same by initialing each page of new orders on their shift and putting "24 hour check" under the most recent order.
The unit secretary is really the one who makes sure everything is entered into the computer, though. Not nursing.

If you have been in the workforce in this field over the years then you should be able to sit for the exam. I have a friend that was an RN and she said that unless your an RN you rank high on the hospital food chain. But you would be pleased to know that doctors treat RNs like crap they just take it out on you because your a lower ranking nurse.
